Premature Baby Pacifiers

Due to their immaturity premature babies are often unable to suck. Studies have shown that premature babies transfer more quickly from tube to breast/bottle-feeding, and feed more effectively, if they are given a pacifier to suck on before feeds. Using a pacifier can result in shorter hospital stays for preterm infants.

Wee Thumbie® Pacifier

The Wee Thumbie® has been designed specifically for very low birth weight babies of less than 30 weeks gestation and is the size and shape of a premature babies thumb.

It’s uniquely shaped nipple helps keep the pacifier in baby’s mouth and its small guard allows space for oral and nasal tubing.

Recommended for use whilst your baby is in hospital only.
